The Periodic Table #1 -- Antiquity

Dmitri Mendeleev is credited with publishing the first "Periodic Table" in the second half of the 19th century -- complete with gaps for elements whose existence were predicted, but had not yet been discovered. However, in antiquity, a number of elements had already been discovered and used by various cultures dating back to 9,000 BC. The elements on this list were all discovered and were being used prior to AD 1. They are listed in the probable order of earliest usage.
