Original Versions of Well Known Songs - Page 2

As a music nut and collector the vast wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm really knows no bounds. Sure cover versions are mega fun but what about the songs you thought were originals, but were really covers? This is that list. I'll freely admit I knew a large majority of these but some I was blown away by. Some true obscure ones here as well as different genres. Some song's titles we're changed a bit by the cover artists as you will see and hear *(some resulting covers I put in parentheses because the titles can stray) and some songs originally were instrumentals before someone even added words! Some were demos by well known songwriters who either wrote the songs directly for artists (think Elvis & Monkees ) among others, or did their own. In other cases, a song was recorded first but not released at all unless a box set brought it to light. Some re-recordings of songs have confused people about who did what and when. Research it, it is there if you go deep. Enjoy!
