20 Years of the RSL Ondaatje Prize

First awarded in 2004, the premise and broad remit of the Royal Society of Literature's Ondaatje Prize (sponsored by Sir Christopher Ondaatje) is to reward literature that best evokes the spirit of a place. The annual £10,000 Prize is now in its 20th year and the list of winners creates a unique set of works and authors that you would not usually find sitting side by side. Literary forms awarded include fiction, non-fiction and poetry.
