Bibliagirl Thought She Disliked This Author Until

If I'm not a big fan of an author, I tend not to read more books by them. Even with the same rating of 3 stars, I can enjoy the book and want to read more by the author, or just think "eh" and be done with it. The latter I tend to not pursue. And if I really disliked a book, or do-not-finish it, there's no way I'd read anything else by the author, right? Sometimes (rarely, or when I don't realize it's the same author) I do give a second chance, and am pleasantly surprised enough that I'll possibly read more by that author. For example, I always thought I hated HG Wells (it was either The Time Machine or the Invisible Man that turned me off him) but in adulthood decided to read War of the Worlds and it was okay. Later I read The Island of Dr Moreau and loved it. So these are books that made me dislike an author or think they aren't good enough to pursue, and the book that changed my mind.
