Films of 1926 - Page 3

Rudolph Valentino died, his final film being "Son of the Sheik". Greta Garbo came to America & quickly became a star with films like "The Temptress". Buster Keaton's famous "The General" is a 1926 film(I think it came out in '27 tho). One of the oldest surviving animated features--"The Adventures of Prince Achmed"-also came out this year. The first film version of "The Great Gatsby"-with Neil Hamilton of "Batman" fame-came out, but as only stills are currently all that's left, I didn't include it. Other stars with films this year include Lon Chaney(Sr.), Clara Bow, Lillian Gish, Douglas Fairbanks(Sr.), & Harry Langdon. There are films from France, Russia & Japan.
