This is it - the definitive list to end all lists. These are the movies that somebody somewhere believes are worth watching (for a variety of reasons).

I've combined lists and recommendations from AFI, Cahiers du Cinema, Den of Geek, Empire, The Guardian, Insider, Letterboxd, Metacritic, Mark Kermode, Mubi, New York Times, and Rotten Tomatoes, as well as the books 1001 Movies to See Before You Die, 501 Must See Movies, 101 Movies to See Before You Grow Up and Beyond Casablanca. I've also included each year's Academy and BAFTA winners for Best Film, Best Foreign Language Film and Best Animated Film.
