This is the second part of a pair of challenges derived from articles published in "The American Scholar" and features considerably more novels by female writers than the first instalment. As author Sandra Gilbert says in the source article "I append here a list of a hundred more works that I'd like to add to any selection of important, influential, culturally significant fictions composed in the United States from the late 18th century to the late 20th century."
