The new movie from David Cronenberg, Crimes of the Future, exhibits many of the director's hallmarks, including an emphasis on the horrors associated with the human body. More than almost any other director working in Hollywood, Cronenberg seems to know just how to get under the skin of the viewer, reminding them of their own bodily fragility.
While his vision is certainly one that is unique to him, there are a number of other movies that have been released over the past few decades which are also designed to unsettle and disturb the viewer.
