Exactly as the title says: these are 100 common birds that should be familiar to most Americans - the ones you see in your backyards, your local parks and on the roadsides. Not all of them are found everywhere in the country, but many are; I tried to include a variety of birds so that all corners of the continent were represented, but obviously some common and familiar birds had to be excluded. This list serves as a precursor for future lists that will cover the local avifauna of those separate corners. Enjoy!
