100+ Famous Operas

Everyone at some point has heard a piece from an opera, whether it's the orange singing "Carmen" on "Sesame Street", or Bugs Bunny's famous cartoons "What's Opera Doc?(Wagner's "Ride of the Valkyries" & music from his "Tannhauser") or "The Bunny of Seville". Even the theme from the old western "The Lone Ranger" was from an opera. However, how many have actually watched or listened to a full opera? The first was I watched were the 6 half-hour animated Operavox cartoons(Rigoletto, Carmen, The Magic Flute, The Barber of Seville, Rhinegold & Turandot). I loved the character of Papagano in Mozart's "The Magic Flute". Recently I began accompanying my BFF & his Mom to The Metropolitan's Live in HD series at my local cineplex. I love classical music. Probably half of these operas were part of the HD series, others I got from my Mom's "Home Book of Musical Knowledge" from 1965. I didn't include the more recent operas like "Satyagraha" "The First Emperor" as they're too new for my taste.
