7th list based on Bloomsbury's Good Reading Guide series, this one by Richard Shepard & Nick Rennison. Many authors & some titles listed in 501 Must Read Books, a few in 1001 Books to Read Before You Die. Many are also part of series featuring such famous characters as Poirot, Inspector Morse, Rebus, Chief Inspector Wexford, Spenser, Sherlock Holmes, Brother Cadfael, Kinsey Milhone & Perry Mason. Many filmed for tv or the big screen. I haven't read the book, but Harlan Coben's Tell No One was made into an excelllent French thriller which I consider a must-see. A lot more books mentioned by the same author or similar type, & lists of sub-genres & winners of the Edgar & CWA Golden Dagger Award are also included in this cool little book. The Game's Afoot!
