1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die: The Last 50 Years Edition (Unofficial) - Page 13

When making my 30 Surprising Removals from 1001 Movies list, I mentioned the idea that maybe 1001 should print two movie books, one for older movies and one for newer movies, so new titles don't get shafted each time a new edition of the book is printed. Most of these new editions of the book are just taking the recently added movies out again after a year or two, even when they've put them on the cover, such as Black Swan, which makes them look a hollow endorsement to me. For this list I've come up with a potential 1001 movies that could be in such a title if released at the end of 2018, starting with movies that are or have already been in an edition of the real book released from 1969 onward (in spite of a few abominations I'd rather remove), then selecting movies I believe are reasonably well liked to make up the number. This list is only supposed to give an idea about what such a book might contain, rather than me saying this is what should be in it and is 100% unofficial.
