Hundreds of thousands of islands lie scattered in the oceans, seas, lakes and rivers of the world. They come in all sizes and variety from those subsumed to densely populated cities to specks of rock visited only by the wind. I've set foot on all but a couple of those listed here - a very mixed bag. The heading image is my favourite of them all - Brac, Croatia, looking across to Hvar. H'ven!
