ISome of them are on the list because their visual effects are so stunning and makes our fantasy bigger with something to really SEE and connect with the plot, BUT MOST OF THEM have poorly shown plot of the entire book. So it hard to find entire film who can replace entire book. Surely, it can and it should be an additional tool and from my experience it help us to remember the plot longer than just with reading a book. Some of these movies are great teaser for people who would like to read some popular or classic book.
And some movies are not on this list because i really think that book is way more better than it movie version.
About visual effect of the same plot... The good example is how the same book is not causing tears in our eyes in the same way as the movie version will. Who cried watching Bambi? or Marley and me?
do not underestimate the power of the film just because of that is not credible to the original plot ;)
