In cases where authors aren't the biggest fans of adaptations of their work, their views make sense because they put blood, sweat, and tears into crafting the tales. Everything is deliberate in their writing, hence why they don't want to see their stories tweaked. Thankfully, there are a few instances when filmmakers honored the work put in by the original creators, leaving them very pleased.
