It started like your harmless normal year.
Enjoying a little winter sun on the French Riviera seemed like a plausible thing to do (how decadent does that sound now omg!), so was celebrating the Fallas in Valencia - until they were stopped for lockdown I.
But adventures can be had with little travel, especially the outdoorsy kind! I got to hike and bike through spectacular landscapes in Europe and spent even more time underwater. If you can't go far, go deep :D
List image is La Geria in Lanzarote - a spectacular volcanic island I would have snubbed forever if it wasn't for the restrictions that made me swap diving Cancun's underwater museum for its twin, the Museo Atlantico, trying to salvage a little of the Mexico experience I had hoped for. And of course I was lucky to catch a sweet spot of both low infection rates and relatively low restrictions within the EU.
All that said - let's hope 2021 gives us our world back!
