Missing Persons is a US new wave band formed in 1980 in LA by guitarist Warren Cuccurullo, vocalist Dale Bozzio & drummer Terry Bozzio. They later added bassist Patrick O'Hearn & keyboardist Chuck Wild. Dale's quirky voice & heavy makeup made the band a favorite on MTV in the early 1980s. Dale & Terry met while working with Frank Zappa, and they married in 1979. Cuccurullo encountered them while working on a Zappa album. Two years of hard work led to signing with Capitol Records in 1982 and the re-release of their 4-song EP. This was followed by a new full-length album Spring Session M (1982), the title is an anagram of 'Missing Persons'. It included both "Words" & "Destination Unknown" from the EP and went gold spawning 4 singles all of which made the Billboard Hot 100, altho none charted above #42. the visual effects used in the music video for "Words" were unusual for the time, making it popular on the fledgling MTV network.
