In this list you can find the second most important city after the capital for every county: these are not all the second most populous cities because in some cases the 2nd most important cities after capital are bigger than capital (for example New York, Sydney, Karachi, Dubai, Auckland, Sao Paulo, Shanghai and many others). In this list are excluded city-states (Singapore, Vatican City, Monaco) and overseas territories or partially autonomous regions.
