30 Surprising Removals From '1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die'

Every time the book 1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die gets updated, a few movies that previously made the cut unfortunately have to get taken out to make way for new releases. It's just hard to believe that it was these beloved movies that got the chop. I mean, they even put some of these on the cover of certain versions, which seems like it should be an endorsement of its staying power in the list. They usually do this to newer movies (but not always, one of these is from 1955), perhaps because the older ones have nothing left to prove after all this time (and they certainly favour movies of a certain age in the book), but maybe they need to start printing a 1001 Movies for titles older than maybe the 1960s and one for titles after that. Too many well loved newer movies are getting shafted by each new edition. Here's thirty of them, most of which I've seen and don't think should have been removed, with a few I know are well liked and am just surprised by.
