You may remember from years past that this guide was capped at 200 movies. By adding space for 100 more, we're skipping the annual internal staff debate about what to add and what to take out while upholding the guide's mission of a balanced, entertaining document. We've now expanded the silent era selections, inserted plenty of sparkling Golden Age Hollywood classics. We continued to survey the contemporary scene and their wide breadth of subjects, selecting the ones that will endure.
