400 Albums - The First Album Era: 1953-1967 - Page 4

My first list. This is a list of 400 albums that were released during the first album era, an era where artists first began to experiment with what the LP could do, culminating in some of the most awesome releases in 1967. I've placed archival and live material in their appropriate context (hence a Sam Cooke live effort released in 1985 is placed in 1963 where it belongs). All of these are then placed in release-date order. Each one that I've checked is one that I possess on vinyl, and believe me, I've listened to it if I have it on wax. Enjoy.
