90 Iconic Films of the 90s

Many notable advances in cinema occurred throughout the 1990s decade. Low-budget independent films continued to rise and maintain their appeal in the business throughout the 1980s and into the 1990s. The decade saw the rise of independent cinema – as well as independent studios such as Miramax, Lions Gate, and New Line – as well as advancements in CGI-technology, as seen in films such as Terminator 2: Judgment Day, Jurassic Park, and Forrest Gump. Toy Story (1995) was the first feature-length computer-animated film, heralding its use as a tool for filmmakers to generate new images for film.
