Our maverick English Teacher and movie buff reflects on the American cinema and comes up with one film from each of 50 American filmmakers. Some of the choices are obvious; others are lesser known films in the director's oeuvre that our compiler thought particularly worth a second look.. the films are in chronological order, and our compiler has decided not to list each director here so that the reader can try to identify them for him or herself.
