Canadian filmmaker Atom Egoyan has directed fourteen features, including The Adjuster (1991), Exotica (1994), The Sweet Hereafter (1997), Ararat (2002), and, most recently, The Captive (2014). He writes, "Rather than a top ten, these are ten films with which I have some sort of personal relationship. I saw them at a certain point in my life, and they left a mark. Or I discovered something new by rewatching the Criterion edition. They are by no means the most acclaimed films in this magnificent collection (though some certainly rank up there), just films that touched me."
