Barnes and Noble Challenged and Banned Books List - July 2023 - Page 6

As a retired teacher, every time I walk into Barnes and Noble and see their banned books table, I shudder. Then I get angry, because book banning will lead to book burning, and we all know where that will lead. The other frightening thing is that there are books on this list that were staples of curricula when I was a student, but they are now considered too offensive and too controversial to even be allowed in schools and libraries. The madness is getting more and more out of hand. I've told my own kids that if a book is banned they should go find it, read it, and talk about it. I try to do the same. Do you ?
