The BBC Big Read: Book of Books

What is your best loved book? This was the question asked by the BBC in 2003 when it launched its Big Read Survey. It asked the public to vote for their best loved book. Only novels were eligible, but they could be from any country or time. A series of books, such as Lord of the Rings, could count as a single title as long as it had been published in a single volume. This is the final 200 (in reverse order), following 7,000 nominations and 140,000 votes - making it the largest survey of British reading at the time.
