Best Books of Each Decade, 1800-2015, Per Goodreads

Or, "From Goethe to Green in 22 Books." Sounds kind of epic for such a short list, doesn't it? Of course decades are a fairly arbitrary classification, but you can trace a broad outline of history through these titles. Just a century separates "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn" and "The Handmaid's Tale." A lot happened, obviously.
