25 Top "Sword & Sandal" Movies
Most of the "peplum" films of the 1950s and the 1960s were set in classical Greece (e.g. "Hercules") or the later Roman era (e.g. "The Magnificent Gladiator"). I've chosen contemporary films that are set between these same time periods (so, no "Seven Samurai" or "The 13th Warrior"); or, the case of Conan, a fantasy film set in a "mythic" earlier age. Buff bods, epic settings, swords, sandals... Action! 😊
