Biggest Summer Movies (By Gross $): 1975-2024

JAWS is considered the movie that started the summer blockbuster. In honor of it being summer, here is a list of top summer movies (not necessarily blockbusters) by gross from the years 1975-2024. The movie had to be released in the summer. #s 1-48 are the top grossing film of each year (1975 was JAWS; 1976 was THE OMEN, etc.) After that, I looked at top movies that were released the same year as the others, but the movie was #2 or beyond for that year: the key then was how many people went and saw it. You'd think it'd be easy to compile a list like this, but it was a wee bit more challenging. Have fun!
