Book Riot's 50 Must-Read Contemporary YA Novels of the 2010s

"With the 2010s approaching their end, we're taking a long look at the best YA novels of the decade. The past ten-ish years have seen an explosive growth in YA publishing and a broader readership of young adult literature. No longer are YA books "just for teens." At the same time, with real progress being seen on inclusivity and diversity in children's and young adult literature, the YA novels being published today are perhaps more relevant and urgent than ever. The new leading and emerging YA authors provide a necessary and welcome wave of representation to all young adult experiences that was missing from the genre's past. This list focuses on the best contemporary YA novels of the 2010s."
