If you're addicted to book series but are sick of wizards, vampires, and dystopias, here are some more literary ways to get your fix. I have nothing against wizards, vampires, or dystopias, of course (don't love transphobia), I just believe that depicting the real world can be just as difficult, creative, and rewarding as "world-building." And I have nothing against Stieg Larsson (R.I.P.) or Suzanne Collins, I liked their original trilogies very much. So did several million other people. (And no, I haven't read all of these books.)
