Adventure Books Adapted for "Classics Illustrated" Comics Series

"Classics Illustrated" was an American series that adapted classic works of literature and history into a comic book format. It ran from the 1940s to the present, passing through several different publishers and imprints along the way.
There is a lot of emphasis on action adventure and daring-do, in a wide variety of locations from ancient times to outer space. It is a fascinating look of the cultural capital of the time.
