Books Jimmy Read as a Kid: A Personal Reminiscence by an Aging Baby-Boomer

An English Teacher and aging baby-boomer reflects on his own childhood reading and comes up with 75 remembered pleasures. The list is by no means complete, and is a reminiscence Of Books I read on my own from about age 6 to 12. School readers are omitted, as are magazines ( no Mad or Famous Monsters, unfortunately) and comic books (except for 10 representatives of Classics Illustrated Comics, from whence many a book report miraculously sprang just in the nick of time.) There is also a large number of books from the Landmark Books Series published by Random House; in the 50s and 60s they were the greatest things a bookish kid could wish for.
