So, I've had this dream - a thought experiment, really, for lack of start-up capital - to have an exclusively English-language bookstore in the heart of Kyiv, Ukraine, to cater to locals, expats, and tourists alike, and to be this intellectual oasis of calm in turbulent times. There hasn't been one yet, and English books are not AS widely available there. The store would forefront local and regional writers in translation, focus on postcolonial thought and trauma healing/resilience, while also carrying some familiar titles that would be interesting and relatable to the local audience.
This is the list of some books I would stock in such a bookstore. How many have you read?
Go ahead and vote for the books you think are a good match for a place like that, and downvote the ones that don't fit the vibe/theme.
