Books of the American Midwest

I've only been to Chicago, but I'm fascinated by the people and landscapes of the American Midwest. I tried to use as many sources and possible in this list of books set in or written by authors of the Midwest. I deleted some of the most tangential items from some of the lists and also simply searched for the names of Midwestern States in book titles. I ended up with a really eclectic selection.
Book lists used of the "10 or 100 books about variety":
Barnes and Noble
Bookbub
Bookriot
Bustle
The Daily Beast
Electric Lit
Flavorwire
Goodreads
Guardian

Lithub
