These are the books that I read in 2025! The best was the Ishiguro and the worst was the Tom Robbins (feel I have to call that out as he feels adjacent to stuff I do like...but I really hated that book and by extension his whole thing).
The Ishiguro was a case where going into it, I didn't see how he could have topped the absolute masterpiece of The Remains of the Day...but The Unconsoled did that. I admit, it personally hits my buttons as it's like he's writing a Kafka novel, while still being very much Ishiguro (he also perfectly nails the humor, which often gets overlooked when "kafkaesque" is bandied about (and really, it's often overlooked how funny Ishiguro himself can be), but The Unconsoled is a very very funny book).
One more note. The Senaa Ahmad book is not out yet (I got it through an early reviewer program), but it will be very soon. So it's not likely you've read it as I'm publishing this challenge, but in a few weeks... Also, I HIGHLY recommend this book!!
