These are not necessarily my favorite books, but they're all books that had a lasting impact on me. I included chapter books from my childhood, but not picture books. Also, it's worth noting that some of the authors listed are not good people and I would never give them more money, but we didn't know that at the time and it felt disingenuous not to include those books.
