Books With Animal Characters

A list of books where animals play a major role, plus a few non-fiction books that I read as a child (except for Pusheen and I forgot to add the Thelwell pony books in time). Some of these books feature outdated attitudes and prejudices and/or I was unaware that the author wasn't a very nice person in real life at the time of reading.
