Brother Cadfael Mysteries

Edith Pargeter (nom de plume Ellis Peters) was a British author who specialized in historical fiction. Arguably her most famous characters was the Benedictine monk "Brother Cadfael", who, after a life of military service retired to a quiet life in the Benedictine Abbey of St. Peter and St. Paul in Shrewsbury. Quiet? Perhaps not so much! Over 20 novels and one short story collection, Peters explores the England and Wales of the 12th century. Several of the novels were adopted for television with Sir Derek Jacobi in the title role.
