California - In Books - Page 2

I was looking for lists of books whose stories or subjects took place in California. On this web site there were exactly two. Both inadequate. So I made my own. 70% of this list is fiction. The key requirement is that a significant part of any book occurs in California. The writer's origins are irrelevant. Non-fiction provides the background on which so much of the fiction is based. It is a big, deeply complex state with an incredible history and a vein of rich literature which continues to the present day.
