Celebrate Banned Books - Page 6

A banned book is one that has been entirely removed from a library or school collection in response to an official/informal challenge. This is not an all encompassing list--rather it's one that scratches the surface of frequently challenged and banned books across the United States. A few of them might seem questionable, but they are indeed banned at specific schools and public libraries at the town/county level. On this list, you'll notice that picture books are not a sight to be seen. That is because there is such a large volume of banned/challenged picture books they need their own list .
Please go out and read banned/challenged books. The power of personal experiences, shared experience, and emotion is meant to be published. Growing up numerous of these books were in accessible in my rural community where getting internet almost impossible. Keep in mind peoples' accessibility to reading materials can be difficult especially when it comes to geographic location and political input
