Here is a short list of books about immigration. Not all of these stories deal with immigration to the United States, not all of the immigrants in these in these stories planned to stay permanently. Not all of these stories feature immigration as the main plot but immigration is a strong feature of the character's life. A definition of immigration: Immigration is the international movement of people to a destination country of which they are not usual residents or where they do not possess nationality in order to settle as permanent residents.
