Ciaphas Cain -- Warhammer 40K Novel Series

Set in the Warhammer 40K Universe, the Ciaphas Cain novels are a series of Dark-Comedy/Action-Adventure novels written by Sandy Mitchell that follow the life of Imperial Commissar Ciaphas Cain. The series is told in the form of Cain's personal diaries, which often differ from the official accounts of his exploits: whereas to the rest of humanity he is known as an unflappable war hero, internally he views himself as an opportunistic coward who just has a string of good luck.
