31 Comic Books That Have Been Banned or Challenged

While comic books in Elementary, Middle, and High School being challenged shouldn't be a surprise. Sad, but not a surprise.
What should be is comics at public libraries being challenged!
And Colleges! Universities!!
Some would take away the right to read something on the off chance a child may read it or that a grownup might read it, even if that book is clearly marked for grownups or a grownup should know that not everything they read they will like.
Many of these stories are about growing up, learning who you are, and going through challenges on the way to being adult. This is a scary time and reading about it can help children go through it.
Others tell stories about the past that while painful is important to remember, are fantasies that may have moral, learning, or just entertainment value to them.
