"Common" Birds

A list of North American birds whose names have the uninteresting qualifier of "common". They might not necessarily be common (or even occur) where you are, and many are quite cool in their own right despite their familiarity, but their names just plain lack imagination and excitement. It bears noting that the Common Pochard, Crane and Ringed Plover are actually more typical of Europe and Asia than North America, but they show up often enough on this continent to warrant inclusion here.
