Condé Nast Traveler: The Best U.S. Islands

Think you have to head to the Caribbean for an island getaway? Not necessarily. For Condé Nast's 34th annual Readers' Choice Awards, voters weighed in on their favorite islands in the United States. Over 800,000 filled out our survey, and while we're always curious about where you've been and where you're going, we're especially excited by the truly memorable places that sparked your imagination and stayed with you when travel may have seemed out of reach. The results reflect the kinds of places you longed to visit when you couldn't travel, and the ones you first returned to once you could.
From Hawaii to the South Carolina Lowcountry, here are the 15 islands you loved most this year.
