Fairy Tales, Myths, and Legends Retold for a Modern Audience - Page 2

Here are 100 examples of retelling fairy Tales, children's stories, myths ,and legends for a modern , adult audience. Some are literal retellings; others are surprising, original, sometimes twisted, and sometimes shocking takes on these classic stories that can go off in totally unexpected directions. I've included 5 compendiums - Bulfinch, Hamilton, Gaiman, Crossley-Holland, and the 4 volume Fry - as a baseline; I've also included several modern dramatic adaptations. I have not included Ancient Greek, Nordic, or medieval material -because, while technically retellings of oral traditions, for my purposes they are considered source material. I have excluded biblical stories because I don't want to stir up THAT controversy at this time.
