Female Detective Series by Women Authors - Another Read 1, TBR 1 List

Here's another list for the "Read One/To Be Read One" challenge. I own and have read the first one of the pair; the second one I may or not own but plan to read in the near future. The detectives described come from a variety of backgrounds - amateurs, teenagers, private eyes and police detectives made the cut and the novels are set in modern times as well as the 18th, 19th and early 20th centuries. The amateur crime fighters have day jobs as midwives, caterers, archaeologists, judges, yoga instructors and museum curators. If I had room, I'd link the name of the detective to the name of the author - alas 1000 characters just doesn't cut it. You'll just have to read the novels and meet the sleuths that way.
