Let me present an eclectic list of fantasy books I love. Some urban, some medieval. Some funny, some grave. Some publicly acclaimed, some frowned upon. Some of them stand-alones, some the first novel in a long series of books. Some old, some new. Some bestsellers, some of them... not. All of them magical and in my humble opinion worth a try.
