These are all film series owned by Sony Pictures, Columbia Pictures, and TriStar Pictures, which are all owned by Sony Entertainment Inc.
You remember them! They keep making Playstations that are too expensive.
Anyway, Sony Pictures are notorious for not being able to hold onto the rights to specific franchises for very long, or just misusing the properties they do own with reckless abandon. You may notice very few of these series go past a third, fourth, or heck, even second movie. Yeah, that's Sony for you.
